Waipahu Visit 223. Today I came in during the lunch time with my home gurls Ariel and Kimmy. We came in during the lunch time before going off to Waipahu High School to teach tinikling again as usual like we do every week. The dine in beezyness was about 35 percent. There was hardly a line for Red Ribbon and Jollibee. Today I got a ube pearl cooler and chickenjoy dip’n strips with honey mustard. As I was ordering, saw Ma’am Sandy and verified if Jollibee was going to open on Saturday, April 12, however, she said that they delayed it back to Tuesday, April 15 due to the Pacquiao fight. I thought it would have been perfect to open on Saturday as it will be a big day for Filipinos that day. Ariel and Kimmy went over next door to Pacific Supermarket because they wanted to get Nestle Milo for Nico. That reminds me of the Milo Blast that they have in the Philippines. I recall seeing an instagram post saying how they should have some food menu items in Jollibee USA from Jollibee Philippines and vice versa.
Waipahu Visit 222. Today I came in during the afternoon time with the homies Nico and CJ. We stopped by for some small kine merienda/lunch action before another tinikling practice with the Waipahu High School Filipino club. The dine in beezyness was about 35 percent. There was hardly a line for Jollibee and Red Ribbon. There were many staff workers right up on the counter. We figured that they are new staff for the upcoming new Jollibee in Kalihi. As I was being rung up for a buko pandan cooler and burger steak meal, I think one of the supervisors were in training at the register. Another new discovery was as we were dining in, Nico and CJ pointed out that there were ube mamons on the counter at Red Ribbon. I had to ask them again and clarify if I heard then correctly about mentioning, UBE MAMONS!?! I immediately finished my burger steak plate and headed over to the Red Ribbon section. At first there was none but a staff worker pulled out a new batch so I was pretty excited. I got enough for the whole crew to taste and eat. It’s about $1.49 for one ube mamon.
Later on during the evening as I was headed home from a gig with the crew, I noticed that they put up the Jollibee sign at the Jollibee construction site at the new Kalihi location (formerly KFC). I was pretty excited so I quickly parked my car and took some pics. There’s gonna bee some out with the old chicken and in with the new chickenJOY. I cannot wait until the grand opening day comes. Diary of a JollibeeKid 3: Kalihi Edition coming soon!
Jollibee Kalihi Coming Soon
Waipahu Visit 221. Today I came in during the morning time to have some small kine breakfast with the homie Nico before going off to Waipahu High School again to teach the Filipino club the tinikling dance. The dine in beezyness was about 30 percent. There was hardly a line for both Jollibee and Red Riboon. I got one of my favorite breakfastJOYs, the longganisa one. It was nice having breakfast on an early morning day at Jollibee. It reminds me of the times when I used to come herhttp://www.jollibeekid.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3772&action=edite early in the morning when Jollibee first opened nearly four years ago when I did the 100 days of Jollibee. Those were the good old days.
Waipahu Visit 220. Today I came in with my friend Nico before going off to Waipahu High School to teach their Filipino club the tiniking dance. We stopped be for some small kine merienda action. The dine in beezyness was about 40 percent. There was a small line for Jollibee and none for Red Ribbon. Today I just got a tuna little big bite and ube pearl cooler. I saw Ma’am Sandy and she said that they are just going to have the egg mayo and tuna little big bite for a limited time in observance of the lenten season. I was disappointed because I want them to keep it especially because the tuna one is my favorite. They should just keep it just like how they keep the spam and corned beef ones.
Ala Moana Visit 146. Today I came during the afternoon for lunch. I was going to get my typical chickenjoy dip’n strip until I noticed a new menu item on the Jollibee board which is the all new crunchy chicken sandwich! I was excited to see something new again for Jollibee. One of the workers said that it is technically the chickenjoy strip, some mayo sauce, lettuce, and the pandesal bread. It was good nonetheless. The sandwich is $1.99. I also got a spam little big bite to compliment for my meal for today. There was no line. The sectional beezyness was about 20 percent.
Waipahu Visit 218. Today I came over during the afternoon time with the crew for lunch. We just came back after performing at Hawaii’s Plantation Village for their Chinese New Year’s Festival. The dine in beezyness was about 60 percent. There was a line for Jollibee and none for Red Ribbon. I noticed that they took down the Apl.de.ap macaroon prop up stand up banner because, come to find out, they sold out or ran out of it. My friend Nico was eyeing some out. Today I got a chickenjoy dip’n strip meal with kiddie soda. I noticed that they did not give me a toy. They also gave me gravy. I guess they do not ask you what kind of sauce you want for the strips. I met some other familiar faces at today’s dine in which includes Michi, who was emceeing the event we were at and Cherry.
Waipahu Visit 217. Today I came and stopped by after dropping off a friend at home. The dine in beezyness was about 15 percent. There was hardly anybody with no line for both Jollibee and Red Ribbon because it was almost closing time. At Jollibee I just got a corned beef and spam little big bite. At Red Ribbon, they have these new coconut macaroons which Black Eyed Peas, Apl.de.ap endorses for his foundation to help schools and stuff. They even have a poster banner stand up with Apl holding some macaroons. It looks good so I got two packs. And they are pretty good too. You cannot go wrong with good tasting macaroons for a cause!
Waipahu Visit 216. Today I came in during the lunch time to get some lunch. It is the first visit to Jollibee for me this year. It is pretty sad that I am starting to slow down on my frequent visits to Jollibee. One of my new years resolutions is to go more often, at least once a week. Nowadays, it’s more like once or twice a month. There were some new things that I saw today. First of all, they have this chickenjoy midweek bundle going on. If you go during the week on Tuesday, you can get a bucket of chickenjoy plus a spaghetti family pack for 17.99. On Wednesday, you can get a 2 buckets of chickenjoy for 17,99. On Thursday, you can get a bucket of chickenjoy plus a burger steak family pack for 17.99. Technically, you will be paying 17,99. Those deals are not that bad I would say. There was a job posting announcement for a new Jollibee store that is going to be located in Kalihi. I was quite surprised by that news. I think a Kalihi store should have came before Waipahu and especially Ala Moana but it is what it is. I was pretty stoked to read about it because it is about time that they have a Jollibee in Kalihi where there are just as many Filipinos over there as in Waipahu. The dine in beezyness was about 40 percent. There was hardly a line for Jollibee and Red Ribbon.
Ala Moana Visit 145. After visiting Waipahu, I also went to Ala Moana. I just got a spam little big bite and peach mango pie over here to compliment the cripsy bangus that I got at Waipahu. The sectional beezyness was about 30 percent. There was hardly a line. I noticed that they had the same postings for the midweek special deals here too. I also now noticed that they put a sign up for call in and pick up orders.
